How to delete your account and data
Draft, not legal advice. This page is a placeholder written to show the structure. The final text will be written or reviewed by a lawyer before the iPhone app ships. Questions in the meantime: hello@whatsnuevo.com.
You don't need an account to use What's Nuevo. If you made one to sync your lists, you can delete it any time.
In the iPhone app
You → Account & security → Delete account, then type DELETE to confirm. You can download your data first from the same screen.
On the website
Sign in with the email on your account, then delete it here.
By email
Can't sign in any more? Email us from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.
What gets deleted
- Your account and the email address on it.
- Your Want to go, Been and Following lists, with any visit notes and verdicts.
- Your iPhone's notification registration and notification choices.
- When you delete on the website, this browser's copy of your lists. When you delete in the app, it signs you out on that phone.
Deletion happens right away and can't be undone. Copies in our database provider's backups roll off within a period to confirm.
What isn't deleted
- The weekly email. It's separate from your account. Use the unsubscribe link in any issue, or email us.
- Reports and suggestions you sent. They stay so we can act on them, but they're no longer linked to your account. If you typed your email into one and want it removed, email us.
- Things on your devices. Visit photos in the iPhone app never leave your phone; deleting the app removes them. Lists saved in another browser stay there until you sign out or clear that browser.
